The tremendously predicted Michael Jackson biopic is properly in production, and the film’s director shared a new photo, of the late King of Pop’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson automatically changed into “Billie Jean” superstar. Antoine Faqua explained about the photo of Jaafar, in which he portrays the character of Michael Jackson while performing on stage.
“Photograph by the renowned photographer Kevin Mazur, who documented Michael’s final rehearsal,” said Faqua. “…is now the first to photograph Jaafar in character as Michael.”
This film takes place on the journey of a musician’s personal life and career. Graham King (Bohemian Rhapsody) would produce the film as well as John McClain, and John Branca would become executive producer of Michael Jackson’s estate. Titled “Michael”, Faqua would be looking forward to directing the forthcoming biopic, the filmmaker previously directed the 2001’s Oscar-winning “Training Day”, and 2022’s Emancipation.
“Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers,” Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s mother, made a statement in The Hollywood Reporter.
Jaafar would be the star of the film along with Nia Long, who would play Katherine Jackson, and Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, who would play the controversial father, Joe Jackson in the Jackson Family Portrait. Nine-year-old actor, Juliano Krue Valdi would portray young Michael during the early years of Jackson 5.
The film will be released in April 2025
