Lucky Daye appeared on Billboard News on July 5 (Friday) with an executive director of R&B/Hip Hop, Gail Mitchell to explain his latest album, “Algorithm”. “My mind-set was I kinda wanted to talk to myself as if God was talking to me,” said the New Orleans singer as he responded to the question on what his idea was on the “Algorithm” project. “So, I was just using that to write letters to myself the whole album, trying to get to know myself.” Extending, “Who am I? What’s my algorithm? The things I don’t like, the things I do like.”
Lucky Daye wrote songs for various artists including Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, and Victoria Monét. In the Billboard interview, he explained how he defines R&B music in his own words. “I’m talking about what I’ve been through and I’m being vulnerable, it’s sounds like R&B in my mind.” He explained continuously by extending, “I honestly think that R&B is everything… it’s the literal foundation of most music.”
Lucky Daye released his studio album, “Algorithm” on June 28 (Friday) via Keep Cool/RCA Records. He is well-prepared for The Algorithm Tour, and Fana Hues is the opening act.
