Mariah Carey is getting her feet wet to begin the new era. After disappearing for almost seven years without releasing a studio album. The outstanding pop vocalist announced on social media that she is releasing an upcoming album in process – “and the first taste of it may be coming sooner than think.”
On Monday, June 2, the singer-songwriter created a teased, glamorous video on social media, where Carey sat in a car to promote an upbeat tempo hip-hop track that she had been listening to on the radio. The video lasted a short time with untitled track – “T:D _ MC16mp3.” “To show my appreciation for your support, thank you DJs.”
The concentration on the license plate indicates that Carey will release a lead single, which is expected to arrive on Friday, June 6, for her 16th upcoming studio album, following her 2018 follow-up, “Caution”, her 15th album.
In September 2020, Carey released her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, to navigate her amazing journey to share her own story. In May 2025, she previously worked on her project for her 20th Anniversary Edition of “The Emancipation of Mimi”.
