Just the following day of her Coachella set, Tems made an official announcement of her releasing her debut album, “Born In the Wild”. The Nigerian singer revealed the news in the form of a sneak peek in her hometown, Lagos, Nigeria.
A full-length album took a long distance for Tems, taking four years in the making (“and more than a few accolades, including a Grammy.”) since she appeared on Nigerian singer Wizkid’s “Essence” which became her first big international career break. During her Coachella performance which happened on April 14, Justin Bieber, and Wizkid participated onstage.
Tems already released her two previous Extended Plays (EP): “For Broken Ears” (2020) & “If Orange Was a Place” (2021).
“Born In The Wild” would become a rapid album extension, arranged to be published expectedly in May, however, she did not confirm the date. It would be Tems’s first album through her record label, Since 9, and RCA Records.
