Yaya Bey announced her upcoming album, Fidelity, the Brooklyn-native singer’s fourth studio album, would be released on April 17 via Drink Sum Wtr, and she explained that her lead single, “Blue”, is from her upcoming album.
“I wrote it when I was rock bottom coming off the heels of ‘Do It Afraid,’” said Bey. “I realized I had to make a big shift mentally and emotionally or I was gonna drown.”
Fidelity is the follow-up to Bey’s 2025 album, Do It Afraid.
Fidelity helps Bey to heal from a grief experience with the tragic death of her father, Juicy Crew member Grand Daddy I.U., along with the loss of the African-American community because of widespread rehabilitation in New York. The record also faced mandatory renewal in the consequences of heartbreaking, and her commitment to providing a spiritual experience as the world goes down the drain.
