California-originated singer-songwriter Fana Hues released “Paper Tigers” on April 30, 2024, from her record label, Bright Antenna Records.
Directed by Kee Kwang, the music video developed a science fiction creature where a wide-eyed Fana Hues asserted her unashamed love to her partner above psychedelic-soul epiphany. The visual experience shows the grandiosity of affection from an outstanding vocalist stepping outside her comfort zone. On the “Paper Tigers” single, Fana Hues explained, “‘Paper Tigers’ are all bluster and no muster. I’m the opposite. I’m big on displaying love, yes, but I actually possess the love I’m showcasing. This song is about the discovery of a fresh love that’s so good, you have to scream about it.”
Previously, Fana Hues appeared on Tyler The Creator’s “SWEET/I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE” and released two albums, “Hues” (2020) and “flora and fona” (2022). The singer-songwriter also toured with Ravenna, Snoh Aalegra, and Giveon in the United States while completing a sold-out headline tour in Europe, including London’s Omeara. Her artistry has also received recognition and co-signs from influences such as Janelle Monae, Sabrina Claudio, and Lucky Daye.
