Rap Battles became a hard-core element in the early 1980s when the Kool Moe Doe and Busy Bee exchanged bars in New York City. Diss Records, battles, and spurring had described one of Rap’s greatest memories, from LL Cool J’s 1990 “Mama Said Knock You Out” to Nas and Jay-Z’s epic argument. It has been a long time since the insult recorded between major artists who took Hip-Hop the world to another level.
That’s how Megan Thee Stallion joins in.
During the weekend, the Grammy-Award-winning rapper, published her latest song, “HISS”, releasing a three-minute song to throw shade at someone who insulted her such as Drake, and Nicki Minaj. The song became the history of Hip-Hop’s diss record, which provided the fans the thrill, doubt, and conflict. Megan Thee Stallion appeared on Good Morning America to promise her fans to give them a sneak peek of her new upcoming album to follow up her 2022 Traumazine, and Hot Summer Girl tour – it gave Hip-Hop creativity and female empowerment which caused a lot of confusion in the Hip-Hop world to avoid women like Megan in the Male-Dominated industry that does not sit right with critics.
“HISS” became a smash hit, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “HISS” is Megan Thee Stallion’s third number-one in her music career. It combined the debut of the diss track, since her two previous songs in 2020: WAP with Cardi B which lasted for four consecutive weeks, and Savage with Beyoncé which lasted for a consecutive week, respectively.
Megan Thee Stallion is running hip-hop. Deal with it.
