The Pink Friday 2 World Tour was announced by rapper Nicki Minaj on November 17 of last year and kicked off in Oakland, CA on March 1. The “Queen of Rap” is set to perform 57 shows in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including stops at festivals such as Rolling Loud California and the Dreamville Festival in Raleigh, NC.
After pushing back the release date two times, Minaj finally released her album “Pink Friday 2” on December 8, 2023. It’s a 22-track album with features from some of the biggest names in rap, including Drake, Lil Wayne, and Future. Before this, she hadn’t done a full-length release since 2018, when she debuted her fourth studio album titled “Queen”.
With amusing samples including Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “FTCU” by Waka Flocka Flame, the album is fun, upbeat, and very on-brand for Minaj and the “Pink Friday” vibe. Typically, when an artist releases an album, a tour will follow, and this one has been highly anticipated by the Barbz, A.K.A. Nicki’s fan base. The last time she went on tour was a year-long worldwide excursion for her 2014 album “The Pinkprint”.
