Summer Walker has Finally Over It with her new single “FMT” as her brand-new album is now available on music streaming services. The Atlanta-native songstress also published the FMT single and music video.
The song is an acoustic ballad in which a self-accepting Walker observes she probably does not have a good relationship with men. “Fuck my type,” she sings. “Why do I like him? He will never treat me right.”
Child directed the FMT music video, where UPROXX mentioned that it “is inspired by African spiritualism, as Summer indulges in a ritual bath, assisted by elders. The imagery suggests symbolic rebirth, echoing the sentiments of the song’s lyrics — and the album’s overall theme.”
Finally Over It created a double album where it reflects Walker reviewing a history of her romantic relationship and establishes that she deserves to be treated better, and understands her worth. The singer stated her mindset on Social Media as she made and developed to publish the album, stating, “I came out of my funk. I’m gonna live life to the fullest and get everything I deserve. It’s so freeing, and I can finally take the baggage off and just be happy.”
