Eve became a trailblazing hip-hop artist and earned recognition as the First Lady of Ruff Ryders. She became the third female rapper to achieve a number-one debut on the Billboard 200 pop album chart with her debut album, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady (1999). She also became the first female rapper to receive a Grammy Award for Best Rap-Sung Collaboration. This trailblazer now looks forward to publishing her memoir. People Magazine announced the news on February 7.

Eve Shares Her Journey in “Who’s That Girl?”
The memoir, titled Who’s That Girl?, explores Eve’s rise to stardom, her influence on pop culture and music, and her challenges balancing personal and professional life. The book reveals Eve’s relationship with Ruff Ryders and the creation of her “Eve of Destruction” alter-ego. She is excited to share behind-the-scenes stories from her experience in the music industry.
“I’m excited for people to get to know me on a deeper level,” Eve said. “This story is decades in the making.”
Eve’s Rise From West Philadelphia to Hip-Hop Stardom
Eve was born Eve Jihan Jeffers, who was raised in West Philadelphia’s Mill Creek Projects. However Music, Eve eluded her struggles for superstardom especially with four albums, 15 films, an Emmy-Award-winning Talk Show, and impacted a generation of female artists.
The memoir would expose the struggles that she went through her success, such as highly-publicized romantic relationships, and fertility problems on her journey into motherhood.
Kathy Iandoli Collaborates With Eve on New Memoir
Kathy Iandoli, an award-winning Journalist, and author who collaborated with Eve on the memoir. She has previously written for notable publications such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, and VIBE. Iandoli was an author for “God Save the Queens”, and “Baby Girl Better Known as Aaliyah. Iandoli has two forthcoming books: “Lil’ Kim’s The Queen Bee”, and “King of New York: A Mafia Tale.”
Eve’s memoir, “Who’s That Girl?” will be published through Hangover Square Press on September 17.
