Toni Braxton is heading into a fresh artistic skill as an iconic 1990s R&B star a film under her multi-picture contract with Lifetime. Her 2000 chart-topping song, “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” influenced this project, which would begin a savage of cinemas that review her hit songs as narration.
In the development of the film, Braxton portrays Mel Montgomery, a successful author whose relationships play an appalling role when her boyfriend Richard, who is portrayed by Thomas Cadrot, immediately abandons her. The drama escalates when Mel observes that he has proposed to her old college friend Monica, played by Essence Atkins. Yvette Nicole Brown also participates in the cast, a glamorous list.
“He Wasn’t Man Enough” will premiere on November 22 at 8/7c on Lifetime’s “Love of a Lifetime” programming segment. It reached the start of a grand vision, combining Braxton’s permanent music with engrossing new storytelling for television.
The new film in the series “Breathe Again” – “shifts the spotlight to three women who fail to find love on a reality dating show.” After leaving Los Angeles for a new beginning in Seattle, trios such as Characters were also portrayed by Atkins, and “A Different World” star Cree Summer – seeking strength in sisterhood while discovering personal involvements.
With this franchise, Braxton is incorporating her R&B legacy with film, adapting popular tracks into chronicles that absorb the entanglement of love, heartbreak, and durability.
