Women conquered the top five of the Billboard 200 Albums chart (reported July 13, 2024), as four of the top five albums were by female artists. It became the first time in more than a year that at least four female artists reached the top five.
Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department spent 11 consecutive weeks at the top of the charts. Megan Thee Stallion’s Megan peaked at number three. Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft peaked at number four. Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess reached the top five for the first time in her music career, rising from No. 6 to No. 5. Morgan Wallen was the lone man in the top five, as his former No. 1 album One Thing at a Time rose from No. 3 to No. 2.
The last time women reached the top five was during the chart dated March 24, 2023. Female group TWICE debuted at number two with Ready to Be. Miley Cyrus’s Endless Summer Vacation reached number three. SZA’s SOS dropped from No. 2 to No. 4. Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito fell from No. 3 to No. 5.
