Khamari Sycamore Tree showcases the Alternative R&B singer-songwriter’s latest artistic evolution. He released the single on June 20, 2025, through Encore Recordings. Inspired by D’Angelo’s 2000 R&B classic, Untitled (How Does It Feel), the song explores the rise and decline of a relationship. Throughout the track, Khamari reflects on whether to stay rooted in fading love or move on from a romance that has lost its spark.
Speaking about the record, Khamari said, “The song captures how something subtle can slowly take over life, consuming you with desire until you lose your sense of direction. It’s deeply rooted, yet always just out of reach. I wanted the music to mirror that journey, starting soft and growing into something beautifully dramatic.”
“Sycamore Tree” follows Khamari’s previous single, Head In a Jar, which arrived in May. Both songs preview his upcoming sophomore studio album, scheduled for release later this summer through Encore Recordings. Together, they highlight his signature blend of soulful vocals, emotional storytelling, and cinematic production, while building anticipation for his next full-length project.
